Backups should be stored in an external location, such as a USB storage device or a shared network folder. Your backup files can also be kept on a separate non-system local drive. Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows will automatically exclude a local folder included in the backup scope from the backup if you choose to store the backup there.
Follow these steps to locate backup files using the Veeam Backup & Replication console:
Switch to the Files view. Expand the backup repository file tree in the inventory pane and open the Backup folder. Locate and access the subdirectory with the backup job name in the Backup folder.
If you want to save your backup in a network shared folder, use this option.
Shared folder stage
With this option selected, the wizard will proceed to the Shared folder stage. Select Veeam backup repository if you wish to save a backup to a backup repository maintained by the Veeam backup server where the Veeam Agent backup operation is configured.
Backup Server phase
With this option selected, the wizard will proceed to the Backup Server phase. Select this option if you wish to save a backup to a cloud repository that the Veeam Cloud Connect service provider has made available to you.
Storage stage
With this option selected, the wizard will proceed to the Storage stage. Backups should be kept in an external location, such as a USB storage device or a shared network folder.
Local drive
Your backup files can also be kept on a separate non-system local drive. Veeam Agent will automatically exclude a local folder included in the backup scope from the backup if you choose to store the backup there. If the Veeam Agent PC is running Microsoft Windows Server, the Microsoft OneDrive option is not available.
The Veeam Cloud Connect repository is not available in the Free product edition.If you want to save a backup file in Microsoft OneDrive for the Free product edition, you can only create backups that contain operating system data. See System State Data Backup for further information.
