A Course in Miracles (ACIM) is really a complete, spiritual, mind-training tool that teaches how you can love and inner peace through Quantum Forgiveness. It is the primary text utilized in our Tabula Rasa Mystery School because the perennial wisdom of ACIM underlies all non-dual spiritual teachings. Through applying its teachings in everyday life, one's thought system is reversed from the ego's fear-based thinking to a thought system based on love.
The Course teaches discernment between illusions and truth, fear and love, and the ego and the Holy Spirit. It is also a transformational, meditation program, and it uses relationships as a means for practising forgiveness. In our ACIM-based school, we also focus on the Course's teachings about following guidance, and how to be of true service beyond the perception of suffering. It is really a pathway of deepening in devotion to Christ, which is our true Identity.
Another way of defining A Course in Miracles is it is a symbol, appearing in awareness to your head that believes in symbols and has needed healing. It offers an obvious and practical approach to getting into an experience that goes far beyond concepts. Watch this great video by which David Hoffmeister also answers the question “What's A Course in Miracles?”
ACIM is a volume of written materials arranged as a self-study course designed to bring the student into a regular state of peace and happiness. It was initially scribed and edited during the years of 1965–1972 by two psychology professors at Columbia University: Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford. With aid from Ken Wapnick, Judith and Robert Skutch, and philanthropist Reed Erickson, the Course was published in 1976 and moved on to market over 3 million copies in 25+ languages.
Letter from Jesus to Helen Schucman
Note: This message originated in Jesus through Helen Schucman. It came after A Course in Miracles have been completed, and was scribed in the same fashion whilst the Course. It had been designed for Helen, Bill Thetford, Judy Skutch, and Ken Wapnick, in response for their request for clarity about how to proceed next with the Course.
This came through Helen Schucman on February 24, 1978. The Course had recently been published and it was being sold directly out of our apartment in NY. It was not yet in bookstores and the question (for the response) arose when we saw that more people were interested in it than anyone thought and we were trying to find ‘alternative'guidance.”
